When BNI launched its global contest with the theme “Beyond,” I knew I had a story to tell. Not just a business milestone, but something deeply personal. I realised this could become a meaningful BNI success story video, showing how the relationships we build in BNI often extend far beyond business.

BNI is known for helping members grow through referrals and connections, but sometimes the impact of BNI networking reaches into parts of our lives we never expected.

A Childhood Dream I Never Thought Possible

 

As a child growing up in the city, I always dreamed about horses. I loved everything about them, but it felt like a world that belonged to someone else. Riding horses seemed far out of reach.

Years later, something unexpected happened through BNI relationships in business. A fellow member and colleague, Claire, invited me to ride with her. What started as a simple invitation quickly became something life-changing.

Before long, I wasn’t just riding horses — I owned one. A dream that once felt impossible had quietly become reality.

When I created my BNI success story video, I wondered if such a personal story would resonate with the global BNI community. It wasn’t about revenue, referrals, or traditional measures of success. Instead, it highlighted the true benefits of BNI networking — genuine relationships that can transform lives.

To my surprise, the story connected with people around the world.

From Personal Story to Global Recognition

 

Out of thousands of submissions, our video was selected as one of three winners. Seeing it played on the main stage at the BNI Global Conference in Sydney was an unforgettable moment.

This experience reminded me that every BNI member success story matters. Sometimes going beyond means growing a business — and sometimes it means fulfilling a dream you never thought possible.
